History
Green Valley Cyclists originated in the year 2004 in the bustling town of Henderson, NV, a suburb of Fabulous Las Vegas, NV. We are a cycling club with a love for cycling on open roads and trails, and we welcome others with the same interests. Many of our club members participate with other local clubs, and we welcome those club members to join us too.
At the core of Green Valley Cyclists there is a commitment to safety, support, and friendliness. We aspire to make every event fun and exciting, while keeping this commitment. Because of these principles, Green Valley Cyclists has become one of the leading cycling clubs in Southern Nevada.
Our club members are what makes this club so active. Dozens of members voluntarily plan and schedule rides for nearly every day of the week, every month, all year long. There is a diversity of events for riders of different skill levels. Typically, the monthly schedule is populated with ride events a week before the start of the month; however, random pop-up events happen frequently, so it's really a flexible culture with respect scheduling.
Green Valley Cyclists started in 2004 as a small group of enthusiasts that were inspired to create a club for cyclists with a similar passion. Throughout the years the club membership has blossomed, and so have the club services. In 2015 a resourceful and generous member, Paul Rachal, created a homegrown website, enhanced it, and maintained it at his own expense. That website was our club's touchpoint for more than a decade. This club is forever grateful for his contributions.
The club has evolved to have a busy social calendar also. There is an annual Summer Picnic, an annual Winter Celebration Dinner, and monthly breakfast rides. Additionally, members may schedule a social event, such as Big Game Watch Party, or a birthday celebration dinner.
Now Green Valley Cyclists has grown to the point where an updated website is needed to support all of our ambitions and goals. We have a growing number of club sponsors, and we want to show our support for them. This is that new website.
